Reports what people with ALS themselves asked of their communication partners. They ask not to be interrupted, and to be asked each time whether they want someone to speak for them, so that it stays clear who is leading.
Even though you may know the requested information ALWAYS ask me if I want you to speak for me so everyone in the conversation is clear that I am in charge.
