MND EnCouRage UK: Supporting the future leaders of MND research
The third MND EnCouRage UK event brought together 22 early-career researchers from the UK and Ireland and more than 20 people affected by motor neurone disease (MND). Researchers presented work on diagnosis, brain changes and potential treatments, while participants discussed how clinical trials should be designed.
Why this matters
The event gave people affected by MND a chance to hear about research and share perspectives on clinical-trial design. It also supported early-career researchers in communicating their work and involving the MND community. The event itself does not provide evidence that any potential treatment works or change current treatment.
Limitations and context
This is an organisational account of a two-day event, not a clinical study or peer-reviewed research report. It does not provide results from a treatment trial or establish that the research discussed will benefit people with MND.
