Inspiring a New Generation of Scientists at New Scientist Live 2025
The Motor Neurone Disease Association hosted an educational stand at New Scientist Live in London from 18 to 20 October 2025. Visitors could explore gene sequencing with Lego, learn about eye-gaze technology and speak with early-career researchers. The organisation says more than 2,200 people visited the stand over three days.
Why this matters
The event gave students and other visitors an introduction to motor neurone disease research and possible careers in science. It may support awareness and future recruitment into MND research, but the report does not show whether attendees went on to pursue those careers or whether this changed patient care.
