Researchers engineered antibody-based receptors to recognise harmful forms of Tau or TDP-43 and direct them to the cell’s waste-disposal system. Delivered in small extracellular vesicles or by a viral vector, the receptors reduced abnormal protein buildup in mouse neurons, human stem-cell-derived motor neurons and mice.
Why this matters
