Reuniting the MND community at the 34th International Symposium on ALS/MND
The 34th International Symposium on ALS/MND took place in Basel, Switzerland, from 6 to 8 December 2023. More than 1,300 people attended in person and more than 350 joined online, with presentations covering research, clinical trials, diagnosis and care. Topics included long-term tofersen findings in SOD1-related MND and potential treatment approaches for FUS-MND.
Why this matters
The meeting shared developments relevant to people living with MND, families, clinicians and researchers. Tofersen is intended for people with an SOD1 mutation, a small proportion of people with MND, while the other findings described were research-stage developments.
